The RB26DETT is a 2.6 Liter, DOHC, 24 valve, in-line 6. It uses a six-throttle inlet manifold, has a bore of 86mm and stroke of 73.77mm which results in a total displacement of 2569cc. A compression ratio of 8.5:1, twin T28 Garrett turbochargers and a large front-mount intercooler help the RB26DETT produce a rated 280hp at 6800rpm and 260ft-lb of torque at 4400rpm. In most peoples' opinion, the R32 was underrated by the factory.

The R32 GT-R uses a 5-speed manual gearbox which is connected to Nissans ATTESA-ETS (Advanced Total Traction Engineering System for All - Electronic Torque Split) all-wheel drive system. ATTESSA monitors the car's movements a 100 times per second, including wheel rotation, and lateral as well as longitudinal acceleration. When wheel slip is detected, the system electronically distributes torque from this spinning wheel to one without slip. Torque distribution can be adjusted to settings between 0:100 and 50:50. The rear of the R32 utilizes an active Limited Slip Differential.

The GT-R uses a multilink suspension, front and rear, and steering is further improved by utilizing an all-wheel-steering system (Super HICAS). Super HICAS allows the GT-R's rear wheels to steer a maximum of one degree, based upon the car's current movement and the angle of the steering wheel input via the driver. This results in a more nimble feel and is handled via electric actuators and computer controls.

The V-Spec (Victory Specification) uses a stiffer suspension and a revised all-wheel-drive system. Performance is further improved by using larger 225/50/17 tires and 324mm back/300mm front Brembo ventilated disc brakes. Exterior dimensions are: 4545mm length, 1755mm width, 1355mm height. From a visual perspective, the GT-R is similar in appearance to the other R-32 models with some exceptions. The GT-R includes front-bumper air inlets, larger intercooler, a taller rear wing, aluminum front wheel arches and bonnet, and GT-R (and V-Spec if applicable) emblems.

The R32 GT-R notched up a whopping 29 straight victories out of 29 races. The GT-R proceeded win the JTC Group A series championship 4 years in a row, thus earning the name "Godzilla".

The R33 GT-R, introduced in 1994, started with the good aspects of the R32 and improved them. The RB26DETT from the R32 was utilized with an improved intercooler, higher peak boost, and adjusted computer parameters that allowed for additional torque (271ft-lb @ 4000rpm). The gearbox, ATTESA-ETS (Advanced Total Traction Engineering System for All - Electronic Torque Split) all-wheel drive system, and rear Limited Slip Differential remained the same. Power was still listed as 280hp, although 302hp is more accurate. The V-Spec version receives revised ATTESSA settings, and a stiffer suspension with a 10mm drop in comparison to the base GT-R.
R33 is wider (1780mm), longer (4675mm), and higher (1360mm) than the previous R32. A new multi-piece rear wing is being utilized that allows four different settings for downforce (0°, 6°, 12° and 18°). Coefficient of Drag is rated at 0.35 - 0.39 dependant on the angle of the wing. Wheel housings are widened to support 245/45/17 tires and, as with the R32, the hood and fender flares are made of aluminum. The R33 also received new side sills.

Between 1969 and 1974, and again between 1989 and 2002, Nissan produced a high performance version of its Skyline range called the Nissan Skyline GT-R. This car proved to be iconic for Nissan and achieved much fame and success on road and track. The Nissan GT-R, although no longer carrying the "Skyline" badge, has heritage in the Nissan Skyline GT-R. Like the Skyline GT-Rs R32 through R34, the Nissan GT-R is all-wheel drive with a twin-turbo 6 cylinder engine; however, the evolutionary, incremental changes between Skyline models R32 through R34 have been done away with. The four-wheel-steering HICAS system has been removed, and the former straight-6 RB26DETT engine has been replaced with a new V6 VR38DETT. Because of the GT-R's heritage, the chassis code for the all-new version has been called CBA-R35 or 'R35' for short (where CBA is the prefix for emission standard), carrying on the naming trend from previous Skyline GT-R generations. The GT-R has also retained its Skyline predecessor's nickname Godzilla.

The Nissan GT-R is powered by the VR38DETT engine, a 3,799 cc (3.8 L; 231.8 cu in) DOHC V6. Two parallel Ishikawajima-Harima Heavy Industries (IHI) turbochargers provide forced induction. Production vehicles produce a manufacturer-claimed engine output of 485 bhp (362 kW) at 6400 rpm and 434 lb·ft (588 N·m) at 3200-5200 rpm. The engine also meets California Air Resources Board Ultra Low Emission Vehicle (ULEV) standards.A curb weight of 1,730 kg (3,800 lb) or 1,736 kg (3,830 lb) with side curtain airbags is achieved using a jig welded steel chassis with aluminum used for the hood, trunk, and doors.A rear mounted six-speed BorgWarner designed dual clutch semi-automatic transmission built by Aichi Machine Industry is used in conjunction with the ATTESA E-TS system to provide power to all four wheels and along with Nissan's Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC-R) to aid in stability. Three shift modes can also be selected for various conditions. The GT-R has a drag coefficient of 0.27.

  • Displacement: V6 3,799 cc (3.8 L; 231.8 cu in)
  • Horsepower: 485 bhp (362 kW) at 6400 rpm; 485 bhp (362 kW)**

The X-TRAIL 20GT achieves high fuel-efficiency of 15.2km/L under Japan's 10-15 test mode operation, representing an increase of approximately 30% in fuel economy over a 2.5-liter gasoline engine with the same power output. In addition to its low fuel consumption, the X-TRAIL's new "M9R" clean diesel engine is more economical to operate, due to the lower price of diesel versus standard gasoline in the Japan market.

In addition to complying with Japan's stringent "Post New Long-term Regulations" emission standards which stresses high environmental performance, the new M9R clean diesel engine also achieves high levels of driving performance demanded by X-TRAIL owners.

The 2.0-liter M9R engine has the power equivalency of a 3.5-liter V6 gasoline engine, generating maximum power of 127kW(173PS)/3750rpm and maximum torque of 360N・m(36.7kgf・m)/2000rpm. The engine provides high torque at low rpm and delivers ample performance in any driving situation. At the same time, the environmentally–friendly and fuel-efficient M9R engine emits far lower CO2 than a comparable 3.5-liter gasoline V6 engine, achieving excellent emissions performance. The engine design also emphasizes smooth, quiet operation, eliminating unpleasant noise and vibration associated with current diesel powerplants.

Nissan Note Facelift

2009 Nissan Note
The most obvious changes can be found to the exterior design, where the front end benefits from a completely new design of grille, bumper and headlight, lending the Note a more premium and sleek appearance.

At the rear, the signature ‘boomerang’ lights are now darker, another discreet change which adds to the Note’s premium feeling. Two new designs of alloy wheels – 15” and 16” – are available, while a new eye-catching pale green exterior color called Cider has been developed.

For the driver, a new combi-meter has been introduced, giving improved legibility and clarity and there is also a new central instrument panel, giving a cleaner appearance to the center console.

Under the skin, improvements have been made to the Note’s suspension to improve ride comfort, while improving responsiveness, knowing that customers consider driving enjoyment a key priority.

Following revisions to its engine and gearbox ratios, September will see the introduction of a 1.5-litre dCi powered Note which produces CO2 of just 119g/km. This follows the introduction of a diesel particulate filter on the 1.5-litre diesel engine earlier this year.
